Lebanon, Penn.: DRT Transportation, an asset-owning intermodal marketing company and third-party logistics firm, won the Responsible Care®New Company of the Year Award during the American Chemistry Council’s 2019 Responsible Care®Conference & Expo in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Responsible Care®Program is an initiative that prioritizes health, safety, security and the environment and the award specifically recognizes companies who complete their Responsible Care®requirements ahead of schedule and pass an occupational safety audit.

“We’re so proud of the work that we’ve done as a Responsible Care®Partner, and are honored to win New Company of the Year,” said DRT President, Rob Kemp. “We’ve made great strides in all four of Responsible Care’s main focus areas, and we know that we will only get better from here.”

As part of the Responsible Care®program, DRT has developed and documented multiple processes and procedures that align with the program’s mission of enhancing health, safety, security and environmental results for products, processes and employees.

In addition to the Process Safety, Product Safety and Security Codes required by the Responsible Care®program, DRT implemented a Carrier Qualification Program and Dispatch Procedures to complement and enhance their existing Responsible Care®work.

“It has taken a lot of work to get to this point,” said Compliance Manager, Alicia Collins. “Being part of the Responsible Care®program and doing this work has been extremely valuable for DRT, and earning the New Company of the Year makes all the work feel even more worthwhile.”

DRT accepted their award onstage during a special event at the 2019 Responsible Care®Conference & Expo.
