DRT is proud to announce that we are an American Chemistry Council Responsible Care® Program Partner. This partnership and DRT’s participation in this program helps further the process of improving the environmental, health, safety and security of the operating systems for our facilities, processes and products.

The Responsible Care® Initiative is a world wide commitment made throughout the chemistry industry to make improvements to industry environmental, health, safety and security performances. This global initiative was started in Canada in 1984 and was implemented by the United States chemical industry in 1988. Responsible Care® members are members of the American Chemistry Council or partner companies, like DRT, who pledge to meet certain program requirements. All members and partners have made CEO-level commitments in which carry out the initiatives core efforts. Today, this initiative is practiced in 68 economies around the world in hopes to take leadership in bettering the environment and economy.

The Responsible Care® Initiative is managed by the American Chemistry Council (ACC), a group of companies that are leaders in the business of chemistry. The ACC members are committed to improving the environmental, health, safety and security performances that are carried out through Responsible Care, and each company that is a part of the ACC, is required to take part in the initiatives. Through the ACC mission, this council provides opportunities for improving the challenges that face the environment, economy and society.

When companies are accepted as Responsible Care® members or partners, they are committing to adhere to the Responsible Care® Guiding Principles, while also required to report publicly on specific chemical measurement performances. For more information on the specifics regarding the guiding principles and public reporting requirements, please visit the Responsible Care® Program section on the ACC’s website.
